… Holy flipping fudge monkies, it’s finally happening… I think?  I know that this was an accidental WIP, and if it’s a preview… oh, help us all.

Omi’s about the only one who looks anything like his old self, but sash says “demoted”?  Chase and Jack look like what happened with American Dragon, but worse.  Love Chase’s voice, but he looks like a girl and says “doohickey.”  What.  Meanwhile, Jack actually grew up and doesn’t fangirl over Chase, yay character development, even if I miss the trenchcoat and cute little baby face.  He’d better keep screaming.

The animation looks amazing, though, at least in 2-D, with the original fluidity… except Omi and Chase’s punch-fest looked so blase and don’t carry any of the actual-ish martial arts that helped make Xiaolin Showdown stand up from other Western Animation.  The 3-D, though, NO.  The 2-D artistry even for Showdowns was one of the best points.  That and the face-faults I’m not seeing, but it was a short clip, and Omi did mangle slang.  Still, to sum up those complaints in a nutshell… what happened to Sparrow Eating Hotdog?!

As far as canon discontinuity, though, have the Shen Gong Wu been re-named for Copyright?  Why is there a random French article calling Omi the leader?  (At least he doesn’t have the Shoku robes here, or even the right sash)  Is the Fanon right about scrapping Season 3?  Is the Temple actually demolished for epic angsting and Darker and Edgier-ness?  Do we actually have to see the monks’ hard-won team chemistry get shot down by a newcomer named PING-PONG?  What sort of name is PingPong, a translation fail?  Epic as new villainesses are, could we get an extra heroine to balance it out, other than Jack’s little cousin Megan?  Why is Dojo yellow?

Again, I know that it wasn’t supposed to be sent out.  Frankly, I don’t care.  It’s all we have to go off of until, what, December?  Next Spring?  May as well let them know how fans feel about all this, instead of letting X Chronicles turn into the next New Coke, right?
